Botanical Garden

Take a trip around the world and get to know its most unique plant species in the 20.000 square meters of this green space, known as La Orotava Acclimatization Garden.

Carlos III ordered the creation of this garden at the end of the 18th century, hoping that it would serve as a place for the adaptation of exotic plants arriving from Asia and America before they were brought to the mainland. The truth is that many of those species found an ideal acclimatization to stay here, thanks to the almost tropical climate of the north of Tenerife.

We suggest you spend some time walking along the paths to discover more than 4.000 plant species, including important collections of tropical and subtropical plants of exceptional value, as well as various trees that have aroused enormous interest among botanists, either because of their large size, their age or their rarity.
